The leadership of the Ondo Ekimogun Youth Congress (OEYC) met with the Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission, Ondo Unit, Mr O.T Adewunmi on Monday 1st of March, 2021. The meeting was to discuss the issue of incessant road accidents caused by Okada riders in Ondo. Safety of road users is very paramount. Every life in the community is to be protected. The OEYC was represented by the Coordinator I, Mr Olusola Akinbinu, and other members of the executive, Mr Feyiranti Akinnagbe and Mr Bode Fadoju.
According to the Unit Commander, he said many persons riding Okada in town have no business operating commercial transportation in town. We need to perfect the identity issues so that incompetent riders do not continue to put the lives of innocent members the community in danger.
Other critical issues like needed road demarcations in strategic points where accidents happen frequently in town were also discussed. Specific steps were agreed upon. The Unit Commander promised to give all supports to the OEYC and all her initiatives bid to protect road users in Ondo Kingdom.
